provisions of law, the boards of supervisors of the several counties may establish annually, by ordinance, and pay in monthly installments each of their members an annual salary pursuant to the out.2\n\nCounties within the following population brackets shall be allowed to set salaries for board members not to exceed the following amounts:\n\t\t\tThe maximum annual salaries herein provided This law was first created in 1984. The record of its establishment is cataloged in chapter 221 of that year\u2019s edition of \u201cActs of Assembly,\u201d the annual state publication listing all changes made to the Code of Virginia in that year. Unfortunately, the 1984 \u201cActs\u201d aren\u2019t available online. It has been modified 2 times. Those modifications are cataloged by \u201cThe Acts of Assembly,\u201d a state publication, by year and chapter.
