The court shall order that the defendant be subject to electronic monitoring by means of a GPS (Global Positioning System) tracking device, or other similar device during this period of postrelease supervision. Procedures for any such termination shall be conducted after a <span class=\"dictionary\">hearing<\/span> in the <span class=\"dictionary\">court<\/span> which originally sentenced the <span class=\"dictionary\">defendant<\/span>, conducted in a manner consistent with a <span class=\"dictionary\">revocation<\/span> <span class=\"dictionary\">hearing<\/span> under &#xA7; <a class=\"law\" title=\"Revocation of suspension of sentence and probation\" href=\"\/19.2-306\/\">19.2-306<\/a>, <span class=\"dictionary\">mutatis mutandis<\/span>. <a id=\"paragraph-310407\" class=\"section-permalink\" href=\"https:\/\/vacode.org\/19.2-295.2_1\/#B\"><i class=\"fa fa-link\"><\/i><\/a><\/p><\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<section id=\"C\"><p><span class=\"prefix-number\">C.<\/span> Nothing in this section shall be construed to prohibit the <span class=\"dictionary\">court<\/span> from exercising any authority otherwise granted by <span class=\"dictionary\">law<\/span>. <a id=\"paragraph-310408\" class=\"section-permalink\" href=\"https:\/\/vacode.org\/19.2-295.2_1\/#C\"><i class=\"fa fa-link\"><\/i><\/a><\/p><\/section>","plain_text":"                                 CODE OF VIRGINIA\n\nPOSTRELEASE INCARCERATION OF FELONS SENTENCED FOR CERTAIN OFFENSES COMMITTED ON\nOR AFTER JULY 1, 2006 (\u00a7 19.2-295.2:1)\n\nA. For offenses committed on or after July 1, 2006:\n\n   1. At the time the court imposes a sentence upon a conviction for a first\n   violation of subsection A of &#xA7; 18.2-472.1 the court shall impose an added\n   term of postrelease incarceration of six months.\n\n   2. For a second or subsequent violation of subsection A of &#xA7; 18.2-472.1\n   when both violations occurred after July 1, 2006, or a first violation of\n   subsection B of &#xA7; 18.2-472.1, the court shall impose an added term of\n   postrelease incarceration of two years.\n\n   3. For a second or subsequent violation of subsection B of &#xA7; 18.2-472.1\n   when both violations occurred after July 1, 2006, the court shall impose an\n   added term of postrelease incarceration of five years.\n   \t\t\t\tAny terms of postrelease incarceration imposed pursuant to this section\n   shall be in addition to any other punishment imposed, including any periods of\n   active incarceration or suspended periods of incarceration, if any.\n\nB. The court shall order that any term of postrelease incarceration imposed\npursuant to this section be suspended, and the defendant be placed on active\nsupervision under a postrelease supervision program operated by the Department\nof Corrections. The court shall order that the defendant be subject to\nelectronic monitoring by means of a GPS (Global Positioning System) tracking\ndevice, or other similar device during this period of postrelease supervision.\nFailure to successfully abide by the terms and conditions of the postrelease\nsupervision program shall be grounds to terminate the period of postrelease\nsupervision and recommit the defendant to the Department of Corrections or to a\nlocal correctional facility. Procedures for any such termination shall be\nconducted after a hearing in the court which originally sentenced the defendant,\nconducted in a manner consistent with a revocation hearing under &#xA7;\n19.2-306, mutatis mutandis.\n\nC.
