The contents of the report required pursuant to this subsection shall be utilized by the local school division solely to implement the provisions of subsection B of &#xA7; 22.1-296.2 and &#xA7; 22.1-315.B\n\nThe report required pursuant to subsection A shall be transmitted to the division safety official (i) via certified mail, return receipt requested, to the mailing address identified by the division superintendent pursuant to subsection F of &#xA7; 22.1-279.8 or (ii) via email to the email address identified by the division superintendent pursuant to subsection F of &#xA7; 22.1-279.8. <a class=\"law\" title=\"School safety audits and school crisis, emergency management, and medical emergency response plans required\" href=\"\/22.1-279.8\/\">22.1-279.8<\/a> in the school division in which such person is employed as soon as practicable but no later than 48 hours after such <span class=\"dictionary\">arrest<\/span>. The contents of the report required pursuant to this subsection shall be utilized by the local school division solely to implement the provisions of subsection B of &#xA7; <a class=\"law\" title=\"Fingerprinting required; reciprocity permitted\" href=\"\/22.1-296.2\/\">22.1-296.2<\/a> and &#xA7; <a class=\"law\" title=\"Grounds and procedure for suspension\" href=\"\/22.1-315\/\">22.1-315<\/a>. <a id=\"paragraph-281461\" class=\"section-permalink\" href=\"https:\/\/vacode.org\/19.2-83.1\/#A\"><i class=\"fa fa-link\"><\/i><\/a><\/p><\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<section id=\"B\"><p><span class=\"prefix-number\">B.<\/span> The report required pursuant to subsection A shall be transmitted to the division safety official (i) via certified mail, return receipt requested, to the mailing address identified by the division superintendent pursuant to subsection F of &#xA7; <a class=\"law\" title=\"School safety audits and school crisis, emergency management, and medical emergency response plans required\" href=\"\/22.1-279.8\/\">22.1-279.8<\/a> or (ii) via email to the email address identified by the division superintendent pursuant to subsection F of &#xA7; <a class=\"law\" title=\"School safety audits and school crisis, emergency management, and medical emergency response plans required\" href=\"\/22.1-279.8\/\">22.1-279.8<\/a>. Any certified mail return receipt shall be retained in the <span class=\"dictionary\">case file<\/span>. <a id=\"paragraph-281462\" class=\"section-permalink\" href=\"https:\/\/vacode.org\/19.2-83.1\/#B\"><i class=\"fa fa-link\"><\/i><\/a><\/p><\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<section id=\"C\"><p><span class=\"prefix-number\">C.<\/span> (Expires July 1, 2027) In the event that the <span class=\"dictionary\">law<\/span>-enforcement agency has existing access to Virginia Employment Commission records, each arresting official shall request in writing that the Virginia Employment Commission provide the name of the current employer of each person arrested for an <span class=\"dictionary\">offense<\/span> set forth in &#xA7; <a class=\"law\" title=\"Offenses requiring registration\" href=\"\/9.1-902\/\">9.1-902<\/a> for purposes of determining whether a report is required pursuant to subsection A. <a id=\"paragraph-281463\" class=\"section-permalink\" href=\"https:\/\/vacode.org\/19.2-83.1\/#C\"><i class=\"fa fa-link\"><\/i><\/a><\/p><\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<section id=\"D\"><p><span class=\"prefix-number\">D.<\/span> Every state official or agency and every sheriff, police officer, or other local <span class=\"dictionary\">law<\/span>-enforcement officer or conservator of the peace having the power to <span class=\"dictionary\">arrest<\/span> for a <span class=\"dictionary\">felony<\/span> shall file a report, as soon as practicable, with the division superintendent of the school division in which the student is enrolled upon arresting a person who is known or discovered by the arresting official to be a student age 18 or older in any local school division in the Commonwealth for: <a id=\"paragraph-281464\" class=\"section-permalink\" href=\"https:\/\/vacode.org\/19.2-83.1\/#D\"><i class=\"fa fa-link\"><\/i><\/a><\/p><\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<section id=\"D1\" class=\"indent-1\"><p><span class=\"prefix-number\">1.<\/span> A firearm <span class=\"dictionary\">offense<\/span> pursuant to Article 4 (&#xA7; <a class=\"law\" title=\"Shooting, stabbing, etc., with intent to maim, kill, etc\" href=\"\/18.2-51\/\">18.2-51<\/a> et seq.) of Chapter 4 of Title 18.2; <a id=\"paragraph-281467\" class=\"section-permalink\" href=\"https:\/\/vacode.org\/19.2-83.1\/#D3\"><i class=\"fa fa-link\"><\/i><\/a><\/p><\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<section id=\"D4\" class=\"indent-1\"><p><span class=\"prefix-number\">4.<\/span> Criminal sexual <span class=\"dictionary\">assault<\/span>, pursuant to Article 7 (&#xA7; <a class=\"law\" title=\"Rape\" href=\"\/18.2-61\/\">18.2-61<\/a> et seq.) of Chapter 4 of Title 18.2; <a id=\"paragraph-281468\" class=\"section-permalink\" href=\"https:\/\/vacode.org\/19.2-83.1\/#D4\"><i class=\"fa fa-link\"><\/i><\/a><\/p><\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<section id=\"D5\" class=\"indent-1\"><p><span class=\"prefix-number\">5.<\/span> Manufacture, sale, gift, distribution or <span class=\"dictionary\">possession<\/span> of Schedule I or II controlled substances, pursuant to Article 1 (&#xA7; in Title 18.2\" href=\"\/18.2-247\/\">18.2-247<\/a> et seq.) of Chapter 7 of Title 18.2; <a id=\"paragraph-281470\" class=\"section-permalink\" href=\"https:\/\/vacode.org\/19.2-83.1\/#D6\"><i class=\"fa fa-link\"><\/i><\/a><\/p><\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<section id=\"D7\" class=\"indent-1\"><p><span class=\"prefix-number\">7.<\/span> <span class=\"dictionary\">Arson<\/span> and related <span class=\"dictionary\">crimes<\/span>, pursuant to Article 1 (&#xA7; <a class=\"law\" title=\"Burning or destroying dwelling house, etc\" href=\"\/18.2-77\/\">18.2-77<\/a> et seq.) of Chapter 5 of Title 18.2; <a id=\"paragraph-281471\" class=\"section-permalink\" href=\"https:\/\/vacode.org\/19.2-83.1\/#D7\"><i class=\"fa fa-link\"><\/i><\/a><\/p><\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<section id=\"D8\" class=\"indent-1\"><p><span class=\"prefix-number\">8.<\/span> <span class=\"dictionary\">Burglary<\/span> and related <span class=\"dictionary\">offenses<\/span>, pursuant to &#xA7;&#xA7; <a class=\"law\" title=\"Acts of violence by mob\" href=\"\/18.2-42.1\/\">18.2-42.1<\/a>; or <a id=\"paragraph-281476\" class=\"section-permalink\" href=\"https:\/\/vacode.org\/19.2-83.1\/#D12\"><i class=\"fa fa-link\"><\/i><\/a><\/p><\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<section id=\"D13\" class=\"indent-1\"><p><span class=\"prefix-number\">13.<\/span> Abduction of any person pursuant to &#xA7; <a class=\"law\" title=\"Abduction and kidnapping defined; forced labor; punishment\" href=\"\/18.2-47\/\">18.2-47<\/a> or <a class=\"law\" title=\"Abduction with intent to extort money or for immoral purpose\" href=\"\/18.2-48\/\">18.2-48<\/a>. <a id=\"paragraph-281477\" class=\"section-permalink\" href=\"https:\/\/vacode.org\/19.2-83.1\/#D13\"><i class=\"fa fa-link\"><\/i><\/a><\/p><\/section>","plain_text":"                                 CODE OF VIRGINIA\n\nREPORT OF ARREST OF SCHOOL EMPLOYEES AND ADULT STUDENTS FOR CERTAIN OFFENSES (\u00a7\n19.2-83.1)\n\nA.
