Each administrative head and Secretary appointed by the Governor pursuant to this section shall (i) be subject to confirmation by the General Assembly, (ii) have the professional qualifications prescribed by law, and (iii) serve at the pleasure of the Governor.B\n\nAs part of the confirmation process for each administrative head and Secretary, the Secretary of the Commonwealth shall provide copies of the resumes and statements of economic interests filed pursuant to &#xA7; 2.2-3117 to the chairs of the House of Delegates and Senate Committees on Privileges and Elections. For appointments made before January 1, copies shall be provided to the chairs within 30 days of the appointment or by January 7 whichever time is earlier; and for appointments made after January 1 through the regular session of that year, copies shall be provided to the chairs within seven days of the appointment. Each appointee shall be available for interviews by the Committees on Privileges and Elections or other applicable standing committee. For the purposes of this section and &#xA7; 2.2-107, there shall be a joint subcommittee of the House of Delegates and Senate Committees on Privileges and Elections consisting of five members of the House Committee and three members of the Senate Committee appointed by the respective chairs of the committees to review the resumes and statements of economic interests of gubernatorial appointees. The members of the House of Delegates shall be appointed in accordance with the principles of proportional representation contained in the Rules of the House of Delegates. <a id=\"paragraph-273899\" class=\"section-permalink\" href=\"https:\/\/vacode.org\/2.2-106\/#A2\"><i class=\"fa fa-link\"><\/i><\/a><\/p><\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<section id=\"A3\" class=\"indent-1\"><p><span class=\"prefix-number\">3.<\/span> Executive Director of the Department of Wildlife Resources; <a id=\"paragraph-273900\" class=\"section-permalink\" href=\"https:\/\/vacode.org\/2.2-106\/#A3\"><i class=\"fa fa-link\"><\/i><\/a><\/p><\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<section id=\"A4\" class=\"indent-1\"><p><span class=\"prefix-number\">4.<\/span> Executive Director of the Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation; <a id=\"paragraph-273901\" class=\"section-permalink\" href=\"https:\/\/vacode.org\/2.2-106\/#A4\"><i class=\"fa fa-link\"><\/i><\/a><\/p><\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<section id=\"A5\" class=\"indent-1\"><p><span class=\"prefix-number\">5.<\/span> Executive Director of the Motor Vehicle Dealer <span class=\"dictionary\">Board<\/span>; <a id=\"paragraph-273902\" class=\"section-permalink\" href=\"https:\/\/vacode.org\/2.2-106\/#A5\"><i class=\"fa fa-link\"><\/i><\/a><\/p><\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<section id=\"A6\" class=\"indent-1\"><p><span class=\"prefix-number\">6.<\/span> Librarian of Virginia; <a id=\"paragraph-273903\" class=\"section-permalink\" href=\"https:\/\/vacode.org\/2.2-106\/#A6\"><i class=\"fa fa-link\"><\/i><\/a><\/p><\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<section id=\"A7\" class=\"indent-1\"><p><span class=\"prefix-number\">7.<\/span> Administrator of the Commonwealth&#8217;s Attorneys&#8217; Services Council; <a id=\"paragraph-273904\" class=\"section-permalink\" href=\"https:\/\/vacode.org\/2.2-106\/#A7\"><i class=\"fa fa-link\"><\/i><\/a><\/p><\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<section id=\"A8\" class=\"indent-1\"><p><span class=\"prefix-number\">8.<\/span> Executive Director of the Virginia Housing Development Authority; and <a id=\"paragraph-273905\" class=\"section-permalink\" href=\"https:\/\/vacode.org\/2.2-106\/#A8\"><i class=\"fa fa-link\"><\/i><\/a><\/p><\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<section id=\"A9\" class=\"indent-1\"><p><span class=\"prefix-number\">9.<\/span> Executive Director of the <span class=\"dictionary\">Board<\/span> of Accountancy.\n\t\t\t\tHowever, the manner of selection of those heads of agencies chosen as set forth in the Constitution of Virginia shall continue without change. Each administrative head and Secretary appointed by the Governor pursuant to this section shall (i) be subject to confirmation by the General Assembly, (ii) have the professional qualifications prescribed by <span class=\"dictionary\">law<\/span>, and (iii) serve at the pleasure of the Governor. <a id=\"paragraph-273906\" class=\"section-permalink\" href=\"https:\/\/vacode.org\/2.2-106\/#A9\"><i class=\"fa fa-link\"><\/i><\/a><\/p><\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<section id=\"B\"><p><span class=\"prefix-number\">B.<\/span> As part of the confirmation process for each administrative head and Secretary, the Secretary of the Commonwealth shall provide copies of the resumes and statements of economic interests filed pursuant to &#xA7; <a class=\"law\" title=\"Disclosure form\" href=\"\/2.2-3117\/\">2.2-3117<\/a> to the chairs of the House of Delegates and Senate Committees on <span class=\"dictionary\">Privileges<\/span> and Elections. For appointments made before January 1, copies shall be provided to the chairs within 30 days of the appointment or by January 7 whichever time is earlier; and for appointments made after January 1 through the regular session of that year, copies shall be provided to the chairs within seven days of the appointment. Each appointee shall be available for interviews by the Committees on <span class=\"dictionary\">Privileges<\/span> and Elections or other applicable standing committee. For the purposes of this section and &#xA7; <a class=\"law\" title=\"Appointment of members of commissions, boards, and other collegial bodies; disclosure of resumes\" href=\"\/2.2-107\/\">2.2-107<\/a>, there shall be a joint subcommittee of the House of Delegates and Senate Committees on <span class=\"dictionary\">Privileges<\/span> and Elections consisting of five members of the House Committee and three members of the Senate Committee appointed by the respective chairs of the committees to review the resumes and statements of economic interests of gubernatorial appointees. The members of the House of Delegates shall be appointed in accordance with the principles of proportional representation contained in the Rules of the House of Delegates. No appointment confirmed by the General Assembly shall be subject to challenge by reason of a failure to comply with the provisions of this subsection pertaining to the confirmation process. <a id=\"paragraph-273907\" class=\"section-permalink\" href=\"https:\/\/vacode.org\/2.2-106\/#B\"><i class=\"fa fa-link\"><\/i><\/a><\/p><\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<section id=\"C\"><p><span class=\"prefix-number\">C.<\/span> For the purpose of this section, &#8220;<span class=\"dictionary\">agency<\/span>&#8221; includes all administrative units established by <span class=\"dictionary\">law<\/span> or by executive <span class=\"dictionary\">order<\/span> that are not (i) arms of the legislative or judicial branches of government; (ii) institutions of higher education as classified under &#xA7;&#xA7; <a class=\"law\" title=\"Transfer of property; rights and duties of the Board of Visitors of the Virginia School for the Deaf and the Blind; supervision of school; appointment and removal of officers and faculty; certain funding initiatives\" href=\"\/22.1-346\/\">22.1-346<\/a>, <a class=\"law\" title=\"Definitions\" href=\"\/23.1-1100\/\">23.1-1100<\/a>, <a class=\"law\" title=\"Science Museum of Virginia established\" href=\"\/23.1-3210\/\">23.1-3210<\/a>, and <a class=\"law\" title=\"Virginia Museum of Fine Arts established\" href=\"\/23.1-3216\/\">23.1-3216<\/a>; (iii) regional planning districts, regional transportation authorities or districts, or regional sanitation districts; and (iv) assigned by <span class=\"dictionary\">law<\/span> to other departments or agencies, not including assignments to secretaries under Article 7 (&#xA7; <a class=\"law\" title=\"Position established; agencies for which responsible\" href=\"\/2.2-215\/\">2.2-215<\/a> et seq.) of Chapter 2 of this title. <a id=\"paragraph-273908\" class=\"section-permalink\" href=\"https:\/\/vacode.org\/2.2-106\/#C\"><i class=\"fa fa-link\"><\/i><\/a><\/p><\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<section id=\"D\"><p><span class=\"prefix-number\">D.<\/span> The resumes and applications for appointment submitted by persons who are appointed by the Governor pursuant to this section shall be available to the public upon request. <a id=\"paragraph-273909\" class=\"section-permalink\" href=\"https:\/\/vacode.org\/2.2-106\/#D\"><i class=\"fa fa-link\"><\/i><\/a><\/p><\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<section id=\"E\"><p><span class=\"prefix-number\">E.<\/span> Severance benefits provided to any departing <span class=\"dictionary\">agency<\/span> head, whether or not appointed by the Governor, shall be publicly announced by the appointing authority prior to such departure. <a id=\"paragraph-273910\" class=\"section-permalink\" href=\"https:\/\/vacode.org\/2.2-106\/#E\"><i class=\"fa fa-link\"><\/i><\/a><\/p><\/section>","plain_text":"                                 CODE OF VIRGINIA\n\nAPPOINTMENT OF AGENCY HEADS; DISCLOSURE OF RESUMES; SEVERANCE (\u00a7 2.2-106)\n\nA.
