A.<\/span> All state agencies shall implement a purchase program for recycled goods<\/span> and shall coordinate their efforts so as to achieve the goals and objectives established in subsection C as well as those set forth in §§ 10.1-1425.6<\/a>, 10.1-1425.7<\/a>, 10.1-1425.8<\/a>, 2.2-4313<\/a>, 2.2-4324<\/a>, and 2.2-4326<\/a>. <\/i><\/a><\/p><\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t

B.<\/span> The Department of Environmental Quality shall advise the Department of General Services<\/span> concerning the designation of recycled goods<\/span>. In cooperation with the Department of General Services<\/span>, the Department of Environmental Quality shall increase the awareness of state agencies as to the benefits of using such products. <\/i><\/a><\/p><\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t

C.<\/span> The Department of General Services<\/span> shall: <\/i><\/a><\/p><\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t

1.<\/span> Ensure that the Commonwealth’s procurement guidelines for state agencies promote the use of recycled goods<\/span>. <\/i><\/a><\/p><\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t

2.<\/span> Promote the Commonwealth’s interest in the use of recycled products to vendors. <\/i><\/a><\/p><\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t

3.<\/span> Make agencies aware of the availability of recycled goods<\/span>, including those that use post-consumer and other recovered materials<\/span> processed by Virginia-based companies. <\/i><\/a><\/p><\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t

4.<\/span> Make agencies aware of the availability of recycled materials<\/span> and products certified as climate positive<\/span>. For purposes of this subdivision, “climate positive<\/span>” means having a negative carbon footprint. <\/i><\/a><\/p><\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t
