<a class=\"law\" title=\"Candidate election cycle\" href=\"\/24.2-947\/\">24.2-947<\/a>. <a id=\"paragraph-251228\" class=\"section-permalink\" href=\"https:\/\/vacode.org\/24.2-947.1\/#A6\"><i class=\"fa fa-link\"><\/i><\/a><\/p><\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<section id=\"B\"><p><span class=\"prefix-number\">B.<\/span> <span class=\"dictionary\">Candidates<\/span> for statewide office shall file the statement with the <span class=\"dictionary\">State Board<\/span>. <span class=\"dictionary\">Candidates<\/span> for the General Assembly shall file the statement with the <span class=\"dictionary\">State Board<\/span> and a copy of the statement with the <span class=\"dictionary\">general registrar<\/span> of the locality of the <span class=\"dictionary\">candidate<\/span>&#8217;s <span class=\"dictionary\">residence<\/span>. <span class=\"dictionary\">Candidates<\/span> for local or <span class=\"dictionary\">constitutional office<\/span> shall file the statement with the <span class=\"dictionary\">general registrar<\/span> and, if the statement indicates that the <span class=\"dictionary\">candidate<\/span> committee will be filing electronically, a copy with the <span class=\"dictionary\">State Board<\/span>. <a id=\"paragraph-251229\" class=\"section-permalink\" href=\"https:\/\/vacode.org\/24.2-947.1\/#B\"><i class=\"fa fa-link\"><\/i><\/a><\/p><\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<section id=\"C\"><p><span class=\"prefix-number\">C.<\/span> The statement of organization shall include the following information: <a id=\"paragraph-251230\" class=\"section-permalink\" href=\"https:\/\/vacode.org\/24.2-947.1\/#C\"><i class=\"fa fa-link\"><\/i><\/a><\/p><\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<section id=\"C1\" class=\"indent-1\"><p><span class=\"prefix-number\">1.<\/span> The full name and <span class=\"dictionary\">residence<\/span> address of the <span class=\"dictionary\">candidate<\/span>; <a id=\"paragraph-251231\" class=\"section-permalink\" href=\"https:\/\/vacode.org\/24.2-947.1\/#C1\"><i class=\"fa fa-link\"><\/i><\/a><\/p><\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<section id=\"C2\" class=\"indent-1\"><p><span class=\"prefix-number\">2.<\/span> The full name and mailing address for the campaign committee; <a id=\"paragraph-251232\" class=\"section-permalink\" href=\"https:\/\/vacode.org\/24.2-947.1\/#C2\"><i class=\"fa fa-link\"><\/i><\/a><\/p><\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<section id=\"C3\" class=\"indent-1\"><p><span class=\"prefix-number\">3.<\/span> The full name, <span class=\"dictionary\">residence<\/span> address, and daytime phone number of the treasurer; <a id=\"paragraph-251233\" class=\"section-permalink\" href=\"https:\/\/vacode.org\/24.2-947.1\/#C3\"><i class=\"fa fa-link\"><\/i><\/a><\/p><\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<section id=\"C4\" class=\"indent-1\"><p><span class=\"prefix-number\">4.<\/span> The office being sought and district, if any, for the office; <a id=\"paragraph-251234\" class=\"section-permalink\" href=\"https:\/\/vacode.org\/24.2-947.1\/#C4\"><i class=\"fa fa-link\"><\/i><\/a><\/p><\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<section id=\"C5\" class=\"indent-1\"><p><span class=\"prefix-number\">5.<\/span> The recognized <span class=\"dictionary\">political party<\/span> affiliation of the <span class=\"dictionary\">candidate<\/span> for statewide office or the General Assembly. In the absence of any <span class=\"dictionary\">political party<\/span> affiliation, independent shall be used; <a id=\"paragraph-251235\" class=\"section-permalink\" href=\"https:\/\/vacode.org\/24.2-947.1\/#C5\"><i class=\"fa fa-link\"><\/i><\/a><\/p><\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<section id=\"C6\" class=\"indent-1\"><p><span class=\"prefix-number\">6.<\/span> The name of the financial institution for his campaign depository; and <a id=\"paragraph-251236\" class=\"section-permalink\" href=\"https:\/\/vacode.org\/24.2-947.1\/#C6\"><i class=\"fa fa-link\"><\/i><\/a><\/p><\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<section id=\"C7\" class=\"indent-1\"><p><span class=\"prefix-number\">7.<\/span> Such other information as shall be required by the <span class=\"dictionary\">State Board<\/span> except that the account number for a designated depository account shall not be required. <a id=\"paragraph-251237\" class=\"section-permalink\" href=\"https:\/\/vacode.org\/24.2-947.1\/#C7\"><i class=\"fa fa-link\"><\/i><\/a><\/p><\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<section id=\"D\"><p><span class=\"prefix-number\">D.<\/span> In the case of any <span class=\"dictionary\">candidate<\/span> who seeks election for successive terms in the same office, the statement of organization filed by the <span class=\"dictionary\">candidate<\/span> shall continue in effect for such successive <span class=\"dictionary\">elections<\/span>, but the <span class=\"dictionary\">candidate<\/span> shall file notice of any changes in the information provided on the form within 10 days of the change with the <span class=\"dictionary\">State Board<\/span>, <span class=\"dictionary\">general registrar<\/span>, or both, as appropriate. <a id=\"paragraph-251238\" class=\"section-permalink\" href=\"https:\/\/vacode.org\/24.2-947.1\/#D\"><i class=\"fa fa-link\"><\/i><\/a><\/p><\/section>","plain_text":"                                 CODE OF VIRGINIA\n\nSTATEMENT OF ORGANIZATION (\u00a7 24.2-947.1)\n\nA. Any individual seeking or campaigning for an office of the Commonwealth or\none of its governmental units in a party nomination process or general, primary,\nor special election shall file a statement of organization within 10 days of\nmeeting any one of the following conditions:\n\n   1. Acceptance of a contribution;\n\n   2. Expenditure of any funds;\n\n   3. The payment of a filing fee for any party nomination method;\n\n   4. The appointment of a campaign treasurer, designation of a campaign\n   committee, or designation of a campaign depository; or\n\n   6. In the case of a candidate for a town office in a town with a population of\n   less than 25,000 that has not otherwise adopted the provisions of this chapter\n   by ordinance, acceptance of a contribution or expenditure of funds that brings\n   the total amount of contributions accepted or funds expended to more than\n   $25,000 within the candidate&#8217;s election cycle, as set forth in &#xA7;\n   24.2-947.\n\nB. Candidates for statewide office shall file the statement with the State\nBoard. Candidates for the General Assembly shall file the statement with the\nState Board and a copy of the statement with the general registrar of the\nlocality of the candidate&#8217;s residence. Candidates for local or\nconstitutional office shall file the statement with the general registrar and,\nif the statement indicates that the candidate committee will be filing\nelectronically, a copy with the State Board.\n\nC. The statement of organization shall include the following information:\n\n   1. The full name and residence address of the candidate;\n\n   2. The full name and mailing address for the campaign committee;\n\n   3. The full name, residence address, and daytime phone number of the\n   treasurer;\n\n   4.
