This permit\nshall serve in lieu of having to purchase a state youth resident combination\nhunting license pursuant to \u00a7 29.1-303.3 or state resident basic hunting\nlicense pursuant to \u00a7 29.1-303, the special license for hunting bear, deer, and\nturkey pursuant to \u00a7 29.1-305, and the state resident fishing license pursuant\nto subsection A of \u00a7 29.1-310. The permit shall be valid for a period of 48\nhours. The permit fee shall be $25 or as subsequently revised by the Board\npursuant to \u00a7 29.1-103. The application for the permit shall state the date\nupon which it will be used, the general area in which it will be used, the name\nof the person and organization responsible for the group of participants, and\nthe number of participants to be covered by the permit. All youth participating\nin a hunting event covered by the permit shall comply with the provisions of\nsubsection A of \u00a7 29.1-300.1 regarding competence in hunter education, or shall\nbe accompanied and directly supervised by an adult over the age of 18 who has,\non his person, a valid Virginia hunting license.\n\t\tFor the purposes of this section, “accompanied and directly\nsupervised” occurs when a person over 18 years of age maintains a close\nvisual and verbal contact with, provides adequate direction to, and can\nimmediately assume control of the firearm from the youth participant.\n\nHISTORY: 2009, c. 45.","edition":{"id":1,"name":"2025","slug":"2025","date_created":"2026-06-21 22:39:22","date_modified":"2026-06-21 22:39:22","current":1,"order_by":1,"last_import":null}}
