The bond shall be conditioned that the public adjuster will conduct business under the license in accordance with the laws of the Commonwealth. The bond shall not be terminated unless at least 60 calendar days&#8217; prior written notice of the termination is filed with the Commission. If, prior to the expiration date of the bond, the licensed public adjuster fails to file with the Commission a certification or attestation that a new bond satisfying the requirements of this section has been put into effect, the public adjuster license shall terminate, and the licensee shall be required to satisfy any and all prelicensing requirements in order to apply for a new public adjuster license. The <span class=\"dictionary\">Commission<\/span> may ask for a copy of the <span class=\"dictionary\">bond<\/span> or other <span class=\"dictionary\">evidence<\/span> of financial responsibility at any time. <a id=\"paragraph-239612\" class=\"section-permalink\" href=\"https:\/\/vacode.org\/38.2-1845.5\/#A5\"><i class=\"fa fa-link\"><\/i><\/a><\/p><\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<section id=\"B\"><p><span class=\"prefix-number\">B.<\/span> For the purposes of this chapter, any individual whose place of residence and place of business are in a city or town located partly within the Commonwealth and partly within another state may be considered as meeting the requirements as a <span class=\"dictionary\">resident<\/span> of the Commonwealth, provided the other state has established by <span class=\"dictionary\">law<\/span> or regulation similar requirements as to residence of such individuals. <a id=\"paragraph-239613\" class=\"section-permalink\" href=\"https:\/\/vacode.org\/38.2-1845.5\/#B\"><i class=\"fa fa-link\"><\/i><\/a><\/p><\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<section id=\"C\"><p><span class=\"prefix-number\">C.<\/span> The <span class=\"dictionary\">Commission<\/span> may enter into a reciprocal agreement with an appropriate official of any other state or province of Canada if such an agreement is required in <span class=\"dictionary\">order<\/span> for a Virginia <span class=\"dictionary\">resident<\/span> to be similarly licensed as a nonresident in that state or province. <a id=\"paragraph-239614\" class=\"section-permalink\" href=\"https:\/\/vacode.org\/38.2-1845.5\/#C\"><i class=\"fa fa-link\"><\/i><\/a><\/p><\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<section id=\"D\"><p><span class=\"prefix-number\">D.<\/span> The <span class=\"dictionary\">Commission<\/span> may verify the <span class=\"dictionary\">public adjuster<\/span>&#8217;s licensing status through the Producer Database records maintained by the <span class=\"dictionary\">NAIC<\/span>, its affiliates, or subsidiaries. <a id=\"paragraph-239615\" class=\"section-permalink\" href=\"https:\/\/vacode.org\/38.2-1845.5\/#D\"><i class=\"fa fa-link\"><\/i><\/a><\/p><\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<section id=\"E\"><p><span class=\"prefix-number\">E.<\/span> The <span class=\"dictionary\">business entity<\/span> has designated an individual employee, officer, director, manager, member, or partner licensed in Virginia as a <span class=\"dictionary\">public adjuster<\/span> to be responsible for the <span class=\"dictionary\">business entity<\/span>&#8217;s compliance with the <span class=\"dictionary\">laws<\/span>, rules, and regulations of the Commonwealth applicable to <span class=\"dictionary\">public adjusters<\/span>. <a id=\"paragraph-239616\" class=\"section-permalink\" href=\"https:\/\/vacode.org\/38.2-1845.5\/#E\"><i class=\"fa fa-link\"><\/i><\/a><\/p><\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<section id=\"F\"><p><span class=\"prefix-number\">F.<\/span> The <span class=\"dictionary\">Commission<\/span> may require any documents reasonably necessary to verify the information contained in an application. <a id=\"paragraph-239617\" class=\"section-permalink\" href=\"https:\/\/vacode.org\/38.2-1845.5\/#F\"><i class=\"fa fa-link\"><\/i><\/a><\/p><\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<section id=\"G\"><p><span class=\"prefix-number\">G.<\/span> A licensed nonresident <span class=\"dictionary\">public adjuster<\/span> who changes his <span class=\"dictionary\">home state<\/span> shall file a change of address within 30 calendar days of the change of legal residence. <a id=\"paragraph-239618\" class=\"section-permalink\" href=\"https:\/\/vacode.org\/38.2-1845.5\/#G\"><i class=\"fa fa-link\"><\/i><\/a><\/p><\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<section id=\"H\"><p><span class=\"prefix-number\">H.<\/span> Any <span class=\"dictionary\">licenses<\/span> issued to nonresidents pursuant to this section shall be terminated at any time that the nonresident&#8217;s equivalent authority in his <span class=\"dictionary\">home state<\/span> is terminated, suspended, or revoked. <a id=\"paragraph-239619\" class=\"section-permalink\" href=\"https:\/\/vacode.org\/38.2-1845.5\/#H\"><i class=\"fa fa-link\"><\/i><\/a><\/p><\/section>","plain_text":"                                 CODE OF VIRGINIA\n\nLICENSING NONRESIDENTS; RECIPROCAL AGREEMENTS WITH OTHER STATES AND CANADIAN\nPROVINCES (\u00a7 38.2-1845.5)\n\nA. An individual or business entity that is not a resident as defined in\nsubsection B of \u00a7 38.2-1800.1 but that is a resident of another state,\nterritory, or province of Canada shall receive a nonresident public adjuster\nlicense if:\n\n   1. The applicant presents proof in a form acceptable to the Commission that\n   the applicant is currently licensed or otherwise authorized as a resident\n   public adjuster and is in good standing in his home state;\n\n   2. The applicant has submitted the proper application for licensure or a copy\n   of the application for licensure submitted to his home state and has paid the\n   fees required by &#xA7; 38.2-1845.2;\n\n   3. The applicant&#8217;s home state issues nonresident public adjuster\n   licenses to residents of the Commonwealth on the same basis or will permit a\n   resident of the Commonwealth to act as a public adjuster in such state without\n   requiring a license;\n\n   4. The applicant, if a corporation, limited liability company, or limited\n   partnership, has obtained from the Clerk of the Commission a certificate of\n   authority, certificate of registration, or certificate of limited partnership,\n   respectively; and\n\n   5. The applicant attests that the applicant has, and thereafter shall keep in\n   force for as long as the license remains in effect, a bond in favor of the\n   Commonwealth in the amount of $50,000 with corporate sureties licensed by the\n   Commission, on a form prescribed by the Commission. The bond shall be\n   conditioned that the public adjuster will conduct business under the license\n   in accordance with the laws of the Commonwealth. The bond shall not be\n   terminated unless at least 60 calendar days&#8217; prior written notice of the\n   termination is filed with the Commission. If, prior to the expiration date of\n   the bond, the licensed public adjuster fails to file with the Commission a\n   certification or attestation that a new bond satisfying the requirements of\n   this section has been put into effect, the public adjuster license shall\n   terminate, and the licensee shall be required to satisfy any and all\n   prelicensing requirements in order to apply for a new public adjuster license.\n   The Commission may ask for a copy of the bond or other evidence of financial\n   responsibility at any time.\n\nB.
