Licenses shall be renewed biennially based on the public adjuster&#8217;s month and year of birth. The license for a public adjuster born in an even-numbered year shall expire at the end of the public adjuster&#8217;s birth month in even-numbered years. The license for a public adjuster born in an odd-numbered year shall expire at the end of the public adjuster&#8217;s birth month in odd-numbered years. All fees shall be collected by the Commission and paid directly into the <span class=\"dictionary\">state<\/span> treasury and credited to the fund for the maintenance of the <span class=\"dictionary\">Bureau of Insurance<\/span> as provided in subsection B of &#xA7; <a class=\"law\" title=\"Expense of administration of insurance laws borne by licensees; minimum contribution\" href=\"\/38.2-400\/\">38.2-400<\/a>. <a id=\"paragraph-217184\" class=\"section-permalink\" href=\"https:\/\/vacode.org\/38.2-1845.8\/#C\"><i class=\"fa fa-link\"><\/i><\/a><\/p><\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<section id=\"D\"><p><span class=\"prefix-number\">D.<\/span> No nonresident <span class=\"dictionary\">public adjuster<\/span> <span class=\"dictionary\">license<\/span> shall be renewed unless the applicant meets the requirements for initial licensure as set forth in &#xA7; <a class=\"law\" title=\"Licensing nonresidents; reciprocal agreements with other states and Canadian provinces\" href=\"\/38.2-1845.5\/\">38.2-1845.5<\/a>. <a id=\"paragraph-217185\" class=\"section-permalink\" href=\"https:\/\/vacode.org\/38.2-1845.8\/#D\"><i class=\"fa fa-link\"><\/i><\/a><\/p><\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<section id=\"E\"><p><span class=\"prefix-number\">E.<\/span> An individual <span class=\"dictionary\">public adjuster<\/span> whose <span class=\"dictionary\">license<\/span> <span class=\"dictionary\">terminates<\/span> due to failure to renew may, within 12 months from the renewal date, reinstate the same <span class=\"dictionary\">license<\/span> without the necessity of passing a written examination by: <a id=\"paragraph-217186\" class=\"section-permalink\" href=\"https:\/\/vacode.org\/38.2-1845.8\/#E\"><i class=\"fa fa-link\"><\/i><\/a><\/p><\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<section id=\"E1\" class=\"indent-1\"><p><span class=\"prefix-number\">1.<\/span> Submitting a renewal application; <a id=\"paragraph-217187\" class=\"section-permalink\" href=\"https:\/\/vacode.org\/38.2-1845.8\/#E1\"><i class=\"fa fa-link\"><\/i><\/a><\/p><\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<section id=\"E2\" class=\"indent-1\"><p><span class=\"prefix-number\">2.<\/span> Submitting a nonrefundable reinstatement processing fee equivalent to double the nonrefundable renewal application processing fee; and <a id=\"paragraph-217188\" class=\"section-permalink\" href=\"https:\/\/vacode.org\/38.2-1845.8\/#E2\"><i class=\"fa fa-link\"><\/i><\/a><\/p><\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<section id=\"E3\" class=\"indent-1\"><p><span class=\"prefix-number\">3.<\/span> Satisfying the relevant continuing education requirements. <a id=\"paragraph-217189\" class=\"section-permalink\" href=\"https:\/\/vacode.org\/38.2-1845.8\/#E3\"><i class=\"fa fa-link\"><\/i><\/a><\/p><\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<section id=\"F\"><p><span class=\"prefix-number\">F.<\/span> An individual <span class=\"dictionary\">public adjuster<\/span> who is unable to comply with the <span class=\"dictionary\">license<\/span> renewal requirements due to military service or another extenuating circumstance such as a long-term illness or incapacity may request a <span class=\"dictionary\">waiver<\/span> of those requirements. Requests for <span class=\"dictionary\">waivers<\/span> of renewal requirements shall be made in a form and manner prescribed by the Commission. <span class=\"dictionary\">Public adjusters<\/span> seeking a <span class=\"dictionary\">waiver<\/span> of renewal requirements shall submit all documentation specified by the Commission so as to be <span class=\"dictionary\">received by the Commission<\/span> no later than the last day of the renewal period. After the renewal period, <span class=\"dictionary\">public adjusters<\/span> who have failed to complete the renewal <span class=\"dictionary\">waiver<\/span> requirements may request a <span class=\"dictionary\">waiver<\/span> from the reinstatement requirements set forth in subdivisions E 1 and 2 within the 12-month reinstatement period. The Commission shall approve or disapprove the <span class=\"dictionary\">waiver<\/span> request within 30 calendar days of receipt thereof, and shall provide written notice of its decision to the applicant for <span class=\"dictionary\">waiver<\/span> within five calendar days of rendering its decision. Any <span class=\"dictionary\">waiver<\/span> granted pursuant to this section shall be valid only for the renewal period or reinstatement period for which the <span class=\"dictionary\">waiver<\/span> request was made. <a id=\"paragraph-217190\" class=\"section-permalink\" href=\"https:\/\/vacode.org\/38.2-1845.8\/#F\"><i class=\"fa fa-link\"><\/i><\/a><\/p><\/section>","plain_text":"                                 CODE OF VIRGINIA\n\nRENEWAL APPLICATION AND FEE; REINSTATEMENT; WAIVER (\u00a7 38.2-1845.8)\n\nA. Any public\nadjuster license for which the renewal application and nonrefundable renewal\napplication processing fee have not been received by the Commission in the\nmanner prescribed by the Commission shall automatically be terminated.\n\nB. On or before May 1, 2021, and biennially thereafter, each business entity\nlicensed as a public adjuster shall submit to the Commission a renewal\napplication, along with a nonrefundable renewal application processing fee\nprescribed by the Commission, for the renewal of the license. Any public\nadjuster license for which the renewal application and nonrefundable renewal\napplication processing fee have been received by the Commission and all other\napplicable licensing and renewal provisions in this chapter have been met shall,\nunless the license has been terminated, suspended, or revoked, be renewed for a\ntwo-year period. Any license for which the renewal application and nonrefundable\nrenewal application processing fee have not been received by the Commission\nshall automatically be terminated.\n\nC. The nonrefundable renewal processing fee for each public adjuster license\nshall be paid in a manner and in an amount prescribed by the Commission.
