Any special license plate for recipients of a military decoration falling below the Purple Heart in the order of precedence shall be authorized for issuance by the Department with a $10 annual special license plate fee in addition to the prescribed cost of state license plates. Special license plates for recipients of the Purple Heart shall be issued as provided in &#xA7; 46.2-742. The Department is authorized to issue an additional plate reflecting the &#8220;V&#8221; for Valor for any plate currently issued by the Department reflecting a military decoration that the federal Department of Defense or other relevant federal agency has determined is eligible for the &#8220;V&#8221; for Valor Device. Any special <span class=\"dictionary\">license plate<\/span> for recipients of a military decoration falling below the Purple Heart in the <span class=\"dictionary\">order<\/span> of precedence shall be authorized for issuance by the <span class=\"dictionary\">Department<\/span> with a $10 annual special <span class=\"dictionary\">license plate<\/span> fee in addition to the prescribed cost of state <span class=\"dictionary\">license plates<\/span>. Special <span class=\"dictionary\">license plates<\/span> for recipients of the Purple Heart shall be issued as provided in &#xA7; <a class=\"law\" title=\"Special license plates for persons awarded Purple Heart; fee\" href=\"\/46.2-742\/\">46.2-742<\/a>. The <span class=\"dictionary\">Department<\/span> is authorized to <span class=\"dictionary\">issue<\/span> an additional plate reflecting the &#8220;V&#8221; for Valor for any plate currently issued by the <span class=\"dictionary\">Department<\/span> reflecting a military decoration that the federal <span class=\"dictionary\">Department<\/span> of Defense or other relevant federal agency has determined is eligible for the &#8220;V&#8221; for Valor Device. The <span class=\"dictionary\">Department<\/span> shall charge only the prescribed cost of state <span class=\"dictionary\">license plates<\/span> for any plate design reflecting the &#8220;V&#8221; for Valor Device. <a id=\"paragraph-288974\" class=\"section-permalink\" href=\"https:\/\/vacode.org\/46.2-725.3\/#B\"><i class=\"fa fa-link\"><\/i><\/a><\/p><\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<section id=\"C\"><p><span class=\"prefix-number\">C.<\/span> Notwithstanding &#xA7; <a class=\"law\" title=\"Special license plates, generally\" href=\"\/46.2-725\/\">46.2-725<\/a>, special <span class=\"dictionary\">license plates<\/span> for the recipients of a military decoration are exempt from subdivisions B 1 and 2 of &#xA7; <a class=\"law\" title=\"Special license plates, generally\" href=\"\/46.2-725\/\">46.2-725<\/a>.
