Advanced practice registered nurses holding a restricted volunteer license issued pursuant to this section shall only practice in public health or community free clinics that provide services to underserved populations.B\n\nAn applicant for a restricted volunteer license shall submit an application on a form provided by the Boards of Medicine and Nursing and attest that he will not receive remuneration directly or indirectly for providing nursing services.C\n\nAn advanced practice registered nurse holding a restricted volunteer license pursuant to this section may obtain prescriptive authority in accordance with the provisions of § 54.1-2957.01.D\n\nAn advanced practice registered nurse holding a restricted volunteer license pursuant to this section shall not be required to complete continuing competency requirements for the first renewal of such license. A.<\/span> The Board<\/span> of Medicine and the Board<\/span> of Nursing may jointly issue<\/span> a restricted volunteer license to an advanced practice registered nurse<\/span> who (i) within the past five years held an unrestricted license as an advanced practice registered nurse<\/span> in the Commonwealth or another state that was in good standing at the time the license expired or became inactive and (ii) holds an active license or a volunteer restricted license as a registered nurse or a multistate licensure privilege<\/span>. Advanced practice registered nurses<\/span> holding a restricted volunteer license issued pursuant to this section shall only practice in public health or community free clinics that provide services to underserved populations. <\/i><\/a><\/p><\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t

B.<\/span> An applicant for a restricted volunteer license shall submit an application on a form provided by the Boards<\/span> of Medicine and Nursing and attest that he will not receive remuneration directly or indirectly for providing nursing services. <\/i><\/a><\/p><\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t

C.<\/span> An advanced practice registered nurse<\/span> holding a restricted volunteer license pursuant to this section may obtain prescriptive authority in accordance with the provisions of § 54.1-2957.01<\/a>. <\/i><\/a><\/p><\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t

D.<\/span> An advanced practice registered nurse<\/span> holding a restricted volunteer license pursuant to this section shall not be required to complete continuing competency requirements for the first renewal of such license. For subsequent renewals, an advanced practice registered nurse<\/span> holding a restricted volunteer license shall be required to complete the continuing competency requirements required for renewal of an active license. <\/i><\/a><\/p><\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t

E.<\/span> A restricted volunteer license issued pursuant to this section may be renewed biennially in accordance with the renewal schedule established in regulations jointly promulgated by the Boards<\/span> of Medicine and Nursing. <\/i><\/a><\/p><\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t

F.<\/span> The application and biennial renewal fee for restricted volunteer licenses pursuant to this section shall be one-half of the fee for an active license. <\/i><\/a><\/p><\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t
