The Board shall promulgate regulations related to the security, access, required records, accountability, storage, and accuracy of delivery of such drug delivery systems. Schedule II through Schedule V controlled substances shall be delivered to an alternate delivery location only if such delivery is authorized by federal law and regulations of the Board.C\n\nPrescription drug orders dispensed to a patient and delivered to a community services board or behavioral health authority facility licensed by the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services upon the signed written request of the patient or the patient&#8217;s legally authorized representative may be stored, retained, and repackaged at the facility on behalf of the patient for subsequent delivery or administration. The repackaging of a dispensed prescription drug order retained by a community services board or behavioral health authority facility for the purpose of assisting a client with self-administration pursuant to this subsection shall only be performed by a pharmacist, pharmacy technician, nurse, or other person who has successfully completed a Board-approved training program for repackaging of prescription drug orders as authorized by this subsection. The <span class=\"dictionary\">Board<\/span> shall promulgate regulations related to the security, access, required records, accountability, storage, and accuracy of <span class=\"dictionary\">delivery<\/span> of such drug <span class=\"dictionary\">delivery<\/span> systems. Schedule II through Schedule V <span class=\"dictionary\">controlled substances<\/span> shall be delivered to an alternate <span class=\"dictionary\">delivery<\/span> location only if such <span class=\"dictionary\">delivery<\/span> is authorized by federal <span class=\"dictionary\">law<\/span> and regulations of the <span class=\"dictionary\">Board<\/span>. <a id=\"paragraph-206781\" class=\"section-permalink\" href=\"https:\/\/vacode.org\/54.1-3420.2\/#B\"><i class=\"fa fa-link\"><\/i><\/a><\/p><\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<section id=\"C\"><p><span class=\"prefix-number\">C.<\/span> <span class=\"dictionary\">Prescription drug<\/span> <span class=\"dictionary\">orders<\/span> dispensed to a patient and delivered to a <span class=\"dictionary\">community services<\/span> <span class=\"dictionary\">board<\/span> or behavioral health authority facility licensed by the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services upon the signed written request of the patient or the patient&#8217;s legally authorized representative may be stored, retained, and repackaged at the facility on behalf of the patient for subsequent <span class=\"dictionary\">delivery<\/span> or administration. The repackaging of a dispensed <span class=\"dictionary\">prescription drug<\/span> <span class=\"dictionary\">order<\/span> retained by a <span class=\"dictionary\">community services<\/span> <span class=\"dictionary\">board<\/span> or behavioral health authority facility for the purpose of assisting a client with self-administration pursuant to this subsection shall only be performed by a pharmacist, pharmacy technician, nurse, or other <span class=\"dictionary\">person<\/span> who has successfully completed a <span class=\"dictionary\">Board<\/span>-approved training program for repackaging of <span class=\"dictionary\">prescription drug<\/span> <span class=\"dictionary\">orders<\/span> as authorized by this subsection. The <span class=\"dictionary\">Board<\/span> shall promulgate regulations relating to training, packaging, <span class=\"dictionary\">labeling<\/span>, and recordkeeping for such repackaging. <a id=\"paragraph-206782\" class=\"section-permalink\" href=\"https:\/\/vacode.org\/54.1-3420.2\/#C\"><i class=\"fa fa-link\"><\/i><\/a><\/p><\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<section id=\"D\"><p><span class=\"prefix-number\">D.<\/span> <span class=\"dictionary\">Prescription drug<\/span> <span class=\"dictionary\">orders<\/span> dispensed to a patient and delivered to a Virginia Department of Health or local health department clinic upon the signed written request of a patient, a patient&#8217;s legally authorized representative, or a Virginia Department of Health district director or his designee may be stored and retained at the clinic on behalf of the patient for subsequent <span class=\"dictionary\">delivery<\/span> or administration. <a id=\"paragraph-206783\" class=\"section-permalink\" href=\"https:\/\/vacode.org\/54.1-3420.2\/#D\"><i class=\"fa fa-link\"><\/i><\/a><\/p><\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<section id=\"E\"><p><span class=\"prefix-number\">E.<\/span> <span class=\"dictionary\">Prescription drug<\/span> <span class=\"dictionary\">orders<\/span> dispensed to a patient and delivered to a program of all-inclusive care for the elderly (PACE) site licensed by the Department of Social Services pursuant to &#xA7; <a class=\"law\" title=\"Licenses required; issuance, expiration, and renewal; maximum number of residents, participants or children; posting of licenses\" href=\"\/63.2-1701\/\">63.2-1701<\/a> and overseen by the Department of Medical Assistance Services in accordance with &#xA7; <a class=\"law\" title=\"Operation of a PACE plan; oversight by Department of Medical Assistance Services\" href=\"\/32.1-330.3\/\">32.1-330.3<\/a> upon the signed written request of the patient or the patient&#8217;s legally authorized representative may be stored, retained, and repackaged at the site on behalf of the patient for subsequent <span class=\"dictionary\">delivery<\/span> or administration. The repackaging of a dispensed <span class=\"dictionary\">prescription drug<\/span> <span class=\"dictionary\">order<\/span> retained by the PACE site for the purpose of assisting a client with self-administration pursuant to this subsection shall only be performed by a pharmacist, pharmacy technician, nurse, or other <span class=\"dictionary\">person<\/span> who has successfully completed a <span class=\"dictionary\">Board<\/span>-approved training program for repackaging of <span class=\"dictionary\">prescription drug<\/span> <span class=\"dictionary\">orders<\/span> as authorized by this subsection. Written notice shall be placed in each shipment providing a toll-free or\n   local consumer access telephone number which is designed to respond to\n   consumer questions pertaining to chemical degradation of drugs.\n\nB. If a prescription drug order for a Schedule VI controlled substance is not\npersonally hand delivered directly to the patient or the patient&#8217;s agent,\nor if the prescription drug order is not delivered to the residence of the\npatient, the delivery location shall hold a current permit, license, or\nregistration with the Board that authorizes the possession of controlled\nsubstances at that location. The Board shall promulgate regulations related to\nthe security, access, required records, accountability, storage, and accuracy of\ndelivery of such drug delivery systems. Schedule II through Schedule V\ncontrolled substances shall be delivered to an alternate delivery location only\nif such delivery is authorized by federal law and regulations of the Board.\n\nC. Prescription drug orders dispensed to a patient and delivered to a community\nservices board or behavioral health authority facility licensed by the\nDepartment of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services upon the signed\nwritten request of the patient or the patient&#8217;s legally authorized\nrepresentative may be stored, retained, and repackaged at the facility on behalf\nof the patient for subsequent delivery or administration. The repackaging of a\ndispensed prescription drug order retained by a community services board or\nbehavioral health authority facility for the purpose of assisting a client with\nself-administration pursuant to this subsection shall only be performed by a\npharmacist, pharmacy technician, nurse, or other person who has successfully\ncompleted a Board-approved training program for repackaging of prescription drug\norders as authorized by this subsection. The Board shall promulgate regulations\nrelating to training, packaging, labeling, and recordkeeping for such\nrepackaging.\n\nD. Prescription drug orders dispensed to a patient and delivered to a Virginia\nDepartment of Health or local health department clinic upon the signed written\nrequest of a patient, a patient&#8217;s legally authorized representative, or a\nVirginia Department of Health district director or his designee may be stored\nand retained at the clinic on behalf of the patient for subsequent delivery or\nadministration.\n\nE.
