The licensee must comply with the requirements of subsection A to maintain the compact privilege in the remote state.C\n\nA licensee providing physical therapy in a remote state under the compact privilege shall function within the laws and regulations of the remote state.D\n\nA licensee providing physical therapy in a remote state is subject to that state&#8217;s regulatory authority. A remote state may, in accordance with due process and that state&#8217;s laws, remove a licensee&#8217;s compact privilege in the remote state for a specific period of time, impose fines, and\/or take any other necessary actions to protect the health and safety of its citizens. The licensee is not eligible for a compact <span class=\"dictionary\">privilege<\/span> in any state until the specific time for removal has passed and all fines are paid. <a id=\"paragraph-257917\" class=\"section-permalink\" href=\"https:\/\/vacode.org\/54.1-3488\/#D\"><i class=\"fa fa-link\"><\/i><\/a><\/p><\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<section id=\"E\"><p><span class=\"prefix-number\">E.<\/span> If a home state license is encumbered, the licensee shall lose the compact <span class=\"dictionary\">privilege<\/span> in any remote state until the following occur: <a id=\"paragraph-257918\" class=\"section-permalink\" href=\"https:\/\/vacode.org\/54.1-3488\/#E\"><i class=\"fa fa-link\"><\/i><\/a><\/p><\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<section id=\"E1\" class=\"indent-1\"><p><span class=\"prefix-number\">1.<\/span> The home state license is no longer encumbered; and <a id=\"paragraph-257919\" class=\"section-permalink\" href=\"https:\/\/vacode.org\/54.1-3488\/#E1\"><i class=\"fa fa-link\"><\/i><\/a><\/p><\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<section id=\"E2\" class=\"indent-1\"><p><span class=\"prefix-number\">2.<\/span> Two years have elapsed from the date of the adverse action. <a id=\"paragraph-257920\" class=\"section-permalink\" href=\"https:\/\/vacode.org\/54.1-3488\/#E2\"><i class=\"fa fa-link\"><\/i><\/a><\/p><\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<section id=\"F\"><p><span class=\"prefix-number\">F.<\/span> Once an encumbered license in the home state is restored to good standing, the licensee must meet the requirements of subsection A to obtain a compact <span class=\"dictionary\">privilege<\/span> in any remote state. <a id=\"paragraph-257921\" class=\"section-permalink\" href=\"https:\/\/vacode.org\/54.1-3488\/#F\"><i class=\"fa fa-link\"><\/i><\/a><\/p><\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<section id=\"G\"><p><span class=\"prefix-number\">G.<\/span> If a licensee&#8217;s compact <span class=\"dictionary\">privilege<\/span> in any remote state is removed, the individual shall lose the compact <span class=\"dictionary\">privilege<\/span> in any remote state until the following occur: <a id=\"paragraph-257922\" class=\"section-permalink\" href=\"https:\/\/vacode.org\/54.1-3488\/#G\"><i class=\"fa fa-link\"><\/i><\/a><\/p><\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<section id=\"G1\" class=\"indent-1\"><p><span class=\"prefix-number\">1.<\/span> The specific period of time for which the compact <span class=\"dictionary\">privilege<\/span> was removed has ended; <a id=\"paragraph-257923\" class=\"section-permalink\" href=\"https:\/\/vacode.org\/54.1-3488\/#G1\"><i class=\"fa fa-link\"><\/i><\/a><\/p><\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<section id=\"G2\" class=\"indent-1\"><p><span class=\"prefix-number\">2.<\/span> All fines have been paid; and <a id=\"paragraph-257924\" class=\"section-permalink\" href=\"https:\/\/vacode.org\/54.1-3488\/#G2\"><i class=\"fa fa-link\"><\/i><\/a><\/p><\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<section id=\"G3\" class=\"indent-1\"><p><span class=\"prefix-number\">3.<\/span> Two years have elapsed from the date of the adverse action. <a id=\"paragraph-257925\" class=\"section-permalink\" href=\"https:\/\/vacode.org\/54.1-3488\/#G3\"><i class=\"fa fa-link\"><\/i><\/a><\/p><\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<section id=\"H\"><p><span class=\"prefix-number\">H.<\/span> Once the requirements of subsection G have been met, the licensee must meet the requirements in subsection A to obtain a compact <span class=\"dictionary\">privilege<\/span> in a remote state. <a id=\"paragraph-257926\" class=\"section-permalink\" href=\"https:\/\/vacode.org\/54.1-3488\/#H\"><i class=\"fa fa-link\"><\/i><\/a><\/p><\/section>","plain_text":"                                 CODE OF VIRGINIA\n\nCOMPACT PRIVILEGE (\u00a7 54.1-3488)\n\nA. To exercise the compact privilege under the terms and provisions of the\nCompact, the licensee shall:\n\n   1. Hold a license in the home state;\n\n   2. Have no encumbrance on any state license;\n\n   3. Be eligible for a compact privilege in any member state in accordance with\n   subsections D, G, and H;\n\n   4. Have not had any adverse action against any license or compact privilege\n   within the previous two years;\n\n   5. Notify the Commission that the licensee is seeking the compact privilege\n   within a remote state or remote states;\n\n   6. Pay any applicable fees, including any state fee, for the compact\n   privilege;\n\n   7. Meet any jurisprudence requirements established by the remote state or\n   states in which the licensee is seeking a compact privilege; and\n\n   8. Report to the Commission adverse action taken by any nonmember state within\n   30 days from the date the adverse action is taken.\n\nB. The compact privilege is valid until the expiration date of the home license.\nThe licensee must comply with the requirements of subsection A to maintain the\ncompact privilege in the remote state.\n\nC. A licensee providing physical therapy in a remote state under the compact\nprivilege shall function within the laws and regulations of the remote state.\n\nD. A licensee providing physical therapy in a remote state is subject to that\nstate&#8217;s regulatory authority. A remote state may, in accordance with due\nprocess and that state&#8217;s laws, remove a licensee&#8217;s compact privilege\nin the remote state for a specific period of time, impose fines, and\/or take any\nother necessary actions to protect the health and safety of its citizens. The\nlicensee is not eligible for a compact privilege in any state until the specific\ntime for removal has passed and all fines are paid.\n\nE. If a home state license is encumbered, the licensee shall lose the compact\nprivilege in any remote state until the following occur:\n\n   1. The home state license is no longer encumbered; and\n\n   2. Two years have elapsed from the date of the adverse action.\n\nF. Once an encumbered license in the home state is restored to good standing,\nthe licensee must meet the requirements of subsection A to obtain a compact\nprivilege in any remote state.\n\nG. If a licensee&#8217;s compact privilege in any remote state is removed, the\nindividual shall lose the compact privilege in any remote state until the\nfollowing occur:\n\n   1. The specific period of time for which the compact privilege was removed has\n   ended;\n\n   2. All fines have been paid; and\n\n   3. Two years have elapsed from the date of the adverse action.\n\nH.
