CODE OF VIRGINIA

POWERS OF DIRECTOR; REGULATION AND IMPLEMENTATION (§ 9.1-215)

The Director:

1. In consultation with the State Fire Marshal, may adopt regulations necessary
to carry out and administer this chapter;

2. In consultation with the State Fire Marshal, may adopt regulations for the
conduct of random inspections of retailers, vending machine operators, and
wholesalers to ensure compliance with this chapter; and

3. Shall ensure that the implementation and substance of this chapter is in
accordance with the implementation and substance of the New York fire safety
standards for cigarettes.
