						<section id="A"><p><span class="prefix-number">A.</span> On and after January 1, 1993, it shall be unlawful to sell or offer for sale <span class="dictionary">beverage containers</span> connected to each other, using rings or other devices constructed of plastic which is not <span class="dictionary">degradable</span> or recyclable. <a id="paragraph-277707" class="section-permalink" href="https://vacode.org/10.1-1415.2/#A"><i class="fa fa-link"/></a></p></section>
						<section id="B"><p><span class="prefix-number">B.</span> For the purpose of this section:
			&#x201C;<span class="dictionary">Beverage container</span>&#x201D; means the individual bottle, can, jar, or other <span class="dictionary">sealed</span> receptacle, in which a beverage is sold, and which is constructed of metal, glass, or plastic, or other <span class="dictionary">material</span>, or any combination of these <span class="dictionary">materials</span>. &#x201C;<span class="dictionary">Beverage container</span>&#x201D; does not include cups or other similar open or loosely <span class="dictionary">sealed</span> containers.
			&#x201C;<span class="dictionary">Degradable</span>&#x201D; means decomposition by photodegradation or biodegradation within a reasonable period of time upon exposure to natural elements. <a id="paragraph-277708" class="section-permalink" href="https://vacode.org/10.1-1415.2/#B"><i class="fa fa-link"/></a></p></section></text><history>1991, c. 209.</history><metadata></metadata></law>
