						<section><p>Notwithstanding any other provision, upon the failure of any owner or operator to remove or remediate a <span class="dictionary">waste</span> tire pile in accordance with an <span class="dictionary">order</span> issued pursuant to this chapter or &#xA7;&#xA0;<a class="law" title="General powers of the Department" href="/10.1-1186/">10.1-1186</a>, the <span class="dictionary">Director</span> may enter the property and remove the <span class="dictionary">waste</span> tires. The <span class="dictionary">Director</span> is authorized to recover from the owner of the site or the operator of the tire pile the actual and reasonable costs incurred to complete such removal or remediation. If a request for reimbursement is not paid within 30 days of the receipt of a written demand for reimbursement, the <span class="dictionary">Director</span> may refer the demand for reimbursement to the <span class="dictionary">Attorney General</span> for collection or may secure a <span class="dictionary">lien</span> in accordance with &#xA7;&#xA0;<a class="law" title="Lien for waste tire pile removal" href="/10.1-1418.5/">10.1-1418.5</a>.</p></section></text><history>2003, c. 101.</history><metadata></metadata></law>
