						<section><p>There is hereby created a <span class="dictionary">Department</span> of Historic Resources. The <span class="dictionary">Department</span> shall be headed by a <span class="dictionary">Director</span>.
		The <span class="dictionary">Director</span> shall be appointed by the Governor to serve at his pleasure for a term coincident with his own. The <span class="dictionary">Director</span> shall be subject to confirmation by the General Assembly if it is in session when the appointment is made, and if not then in session, at the next succeeding session.
		The <span class="dictionary">Director</span> shall also serve as the State Historic Preservation Officer for the purposes of carrying out the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966 (P.L. 89-665), as amended.</p></section></text><history>1989, c. 656.</history><metadata></metadata></law>
