						<section><p>If the <span class="dictionary">Board</span> disapproves the <span class="dictionary">petition</span>, its determination shall be recorded, and if the petitioners are the governing body of a <span class="dictionary">district</span>, <span class="dictionary">county</span> or <span class="dictionary">city</span> or a part of a <span class="dictionary">county</span> or <span class="dictionary">city</span>, the governing body shall be notified in writing. If the petitioners are the requisite number of registered voters prescribed by subdivision 4 of &#xA7;&#xA0;<a class="law" title="Petitions filed with the Board" href="/10.1-507/">10.1-507</a>, notification shall be by a notice printed once in a newspaper of general circulation within the area designated in the <span class="dictionary">petition</span>.</p></section></text><history>1970, c. 480, &#xA7; 21-13.1; 1988, c. 891.</history><metadata></metadata></law>
