						<section><p>The <span class="dictionary">governing body</span> of each <span class="dictionary">county</span> and <span class="dictionary">city</span> shall, at the expense of the <span class="dictionary">county</span> or <span class="dictionary">city</span>, provide (i) suitable books and stationery, in addition to supplies furnished by the Commonwealth, for the use of clerks of all <span class="dictionary">courts</span> of record, together with appropriate cases and other furniture, for the safe and convenient keeping of all the books, documents and papers, in the <span class="dictionary">custody</span> of such officers; (ii) official seals for such officers; and (iii) such other office equipment, electronic or other systems, and appliances as in their <span class="dictionary">judgment</span> may be reasonably necessary for the proper conduct of such offices.</p></section></text><history>Code 1950, &#xA7; 15-10.1; 1954, c. 652; 1956, c. 480; 1962, c. 623, &#xA7; 15.1-19; 1973, c. 544; 1980, c. 549; 1997, c. 587; 2014, cc. 360, 589.</history><metadata></metadata></law>
