						<section><p>In any <span class="dictionary">locality</span> without an applicable <span class="dictionary">zoning</span> <span class="dictionary">ordinance</span>, the local <span class="dictionary">governing body</span> may provide by <span class="dictionary">ordinance</span> that any <span class="dictionary">party</span> desiring to establish a public or private detention home, group home or other residential care facility for children in need of services or for delinquent or alleged delinquent youth must first provide public notice and participate in a public <span class="dictionary">hearing</span> in accordance with &#xA7;&#xA0;<a class="law" title="Advertisement of plans, ordinances, etc.; joint public hearings; written notice of certain amendments" href="/15.2-2204/">15.2-2204</a>.</p></section></text><history>1994, c. 372, &#xA7; 15.1-503.4; 1997, c. 587.</history><metadata></metadata></law>
