						<section><p>The ballots shall be counted, returns made and canvassed as in other elections and the results certified by the electoral boards to the <span class="dictionary">judge</span> or <span class="dictionary">judges</span> of the <span class="dictionary">circuit</span> <span class="dictionary">courts</span> for the localities. If it appears by the report of the electoral boards that a majority of the <span class="dictionary">voters</span> of each <span class="dictionary">locality</span> proposing to consolidate voting on the question submitted are in favor of the <span class="dictionary">consolidation</span>, the <span class="dictionary">judge</span> or <span class="dictionary">judges</span> shall enter of record such <span class="dictionary">fact</span> and shall notify the Secretary of the Commonwealth of such <span class="dictionary">fact</span>.</p></section></text><history>Code 1950, &#xA7; 15-168; 1962, c. 623, &#xA7; 15.1-1077; 1970, c. 751; 1978, c. 642; 1997, c. 587.</history><metadata></metadata></law>
