						<section><p>At the session of the General Assembly that follows the elections provided for in either &#xA7;&#xA0;<a class="law" title="Election or appointment of county officers" href="/15.2-3508/">15.2-3508</a> or &#xA7;&#xA0;<a class="law" title="Election or appointment of city or town officers" href="/15.2-3509/">15.2-3509</a>, the <span class="dictionary">governing body</span> of the resulting consolidated <span class="dictionary">county</span>, <span class="dictionary">city</span> or <span class="dictionary">town</span> shall request its delegate or senator in the General Assembly to introduce a bill to repeal all obsolete charters of the <span class="dictionary">local governments</span> that have been consolidated.</p></section></text><history>1997, c. 587.</history><metadata></metadata></law>
