						<section><p>The special <span class="dictionary">court</span> shall by <span class="dictionary">order</span> fix a time within which a <span class="dictionary">voter</span>, property owner or political subdivision not served may become a <span class="dictionary">party</span> to a proceeding instituted under this chapter, and thereafter no such <span class="dictionary">petition</span> shall be received, except for good cause shown. A copy of the <span class="dictionary">order</span> shall be published twice in a newspaper of general circulation in the <span class="dictionary">county</span> and in the adjoining or adjacent counties and cities, with the first notice appearing no more than 28 days and the second notice appearing no less than seven days before the time fixed by the special <span class="dictionary">court</span>.</p></section></text><history>1979, c. 85, &#xA7; 15.1-982.5; 1997, c. 587; 2024, cc. 225, 242.</history><metadata></metadata></law>
