						<section><p>If a <span class="dictionary">town</span> becomes a <span class="dictionary">city</span> under this chapter, the mayor of the <span class="dictionary">town</span> shall be the mayor of the <span class="dictionary">city</span>; shall receive the same salary and fees; and shall discharge the duties, be vested with the authority and be subject to the penalties imposed on him by the charter or general <span class="dictionary">law</span>.
