						<section><p>The <span class="dictionary">governing body</span> of a <span class="dictionary">locality</span> may by resolution, or two or more localities may by concurrent resolutions, create an <span class="dictionary">authority</span>, the name of which shall contain the word &#x201C;<span class="dictionary">authority</span>.&#x201D; The <span class="dictionary">authority</span> shall be a public body politic and corporate. The resolution creating the <span class="dictionary">authority</span> shall not be adopted or approved until a public <span class="dictionary">hearing</span> has been held in each participating <span class="dictionary">locality</span> on the question of its adoption or approval.</p></section></text><history>2003, c. 643; 2005, c. 299.</history><metadata></metadata></law>
