						<section><p>The board may inquire into the official conduct of any office, officer or employee under its control, and investigate the accounts, receipts, disbursements and expenses of any such office, officer or employee. For these purposes it may <span class="dictionary">subpoena</span> <span class="dictionary">county</span> employees as witnesses, administer <span class="dictionary">oaths</span> and require the production of books, papers and other <span class="dictionary">evidence</span> in their control.
