						<section><p>The treasurer or his duly authorized deputies may transfer public funds from one depository to another by wire. Such officers may also draw any of the <span class="dictionary">county</span>&#x2019;s money by check, by an electronic fund wire or payment system, or by any means deemed appropriate and sound by the <span class="dictionary">county</span> treasurer and approved by the <span class="dictionary">governing body</span>, drawn upon a warrant issued by the <span class="dictionary">governing body</span>. If any money is knowingly paid otherwise than upon the <span class="dictionary">county</span> treasurer&#x2019;s check, electronic fund wire or payment system or by alternative means specifically approved by the <span class="dictionary">county</span> treasurer and the <span class="dictionary">governing body</span>, drawn upon such warrant, the payment shall be invalid against the <span class="dictionary">county</span>.</p></section></text><history>1978, c. 460, &#xA7; 15.1-684.1; 1986, c. 293; 1997, c. 587.</history><metadata></metadata></law>
