						<section><p>Notwithstanding any other provision of <span class="dictionary">law</span>, whenever any <span class="dictionary">county</span> purchases real estate for which the consideration paid exceeds $1,000, the <span class="dictionary">county</span>, in lieu of having the title examined and approved by an attorney-at-<span class="dictionary">law</span>, may purchase an insurance policy which insures the <span class="dictionary">county</span>&#x2019;s interest in the title to the property from a company which is authorized to <span class="dictionary">issue</span> such policies in the Commonwealth. <span class="dictionary">Evidence</span> of such insurance shall be filed with the clerk for the <span class="dictionary">circuit</span> <span class="dictionary">court</span> of the <span class="dictionary">county</span> along with the recorded deed or other papers by which the title is conveyed.</p></section></text><history>1983, c. 364, &#xA7; 15.1-687.6; 1997, c. 587.</history><metadata></metadata></law>
