						<section><p>Any <span class="dictionary">judge</span> or substitute <span class="dictionary">judge</span> of a district <span class="dictionary">court</span> may be removed from office in the manner and for any of the causes prescribed in Chapter 9 (&#xA7;&#xA0;<a class="law" title="Definitions and application of chapter" href="/17.1-900/">17.1-900</a> et seq.) of Title 17.1; provided, that substitute <span class="dictionary">judges</span> may be removed from office under the provisions of &#xA7;&#xA7;&#xA0;<a class="law" title="Applicability of article; certain exceptions" href="/24.2-230/">24.2-230</a> through <a class="law" title="Costs" href="/24.2-238/">24.2-238</a>.</p></section></text><history>1972, c. 708; 1973, c. 546.</history><metadata></metadata></law>
