						<section><p>A <span class="dictionary">judge</span> of a district <span class="dictionary">court</span> shall have and may exercise, concurrently with special justices appointed for the purpose, the <span class="dictionary">jurisdiction</span> conferred by general <span class="dictionary">law</span> upon justices, and special justices in all matters in connection with the adjudication and commitment of incapacitated persons, including drug-addicted and inebriate persons, and the institution and conduct of proceedings thereof. Such proceedings may be had at any place within the <span class="dictionary">jurisdiction</span> of the <span class="dictionary">court</span> over which such <span class="dictionary">judge</span> presides.</p></section></text><history>1972, c. 708; 1973, c. 546; 1997, c. 801.</history><metadata></metadata></law>
