						<section><p>The Office of the Executive Secretary of the Supreme <span class="dictionary">Court</span> of Virginia shall collect data related to <span class="dictionary">petitions</span> filed pursuant to &#xA7;&#xA7;&#xA0;<a class="law" title="(Effective July 1, 2026) Sealing of offenses resulting in a deferred and dismissed disposition or conviction by petition" href="/19.2-392.12/">19.2-392.12</a> and <a class="law" title="(Effective July 1, 2026) Sealing of charges and convictions related to automatic sealing; petition" href="/19.2-392.12_1/">19.2-392.12:1</a> and report such data annually to the Virginia State <span class="dictionary">Crime</span> Commission by October 1 of each year, beginning October 1, 2027. Such data shall include the number of sealing <span class="dictionary">petitions</span> filed; whether such <span class="dictionary">petitions</span> were filed pursuant to &#xA7;&#xA0;<a class="law" title="(Effective July 1, 2026) Sealing of offenses resulting in a deferred and dismissed disposition or conviction by petition" href="/19.2-392.12/">19.2-392.12</a> or <a class="law" title="(Effective July 1, 2026) Sealing of charges and convictions related to automatic sealing; petition" href="/19.2-392.12_1/">19.2-392.12:1</a>; the number of <span class="dictionary">petitions</span> in which a <span class="dictionary">hearing</span> was held; the number of charges ordered <span class="dictionary">sealed</span> or denied to be <span class="dictionary">sealed</span>; the number of petitioners represented by <span class="dictionary">counsel</span>; the date of birth, sex, and race of petitioners; and, to the extent available, data relating to the specifically identified charges, <span class="dictionary">convictions</span>, and ancillary matters for which sealing was granted or denied.</p></section></text><history>2025, cc. 634, 671.</history><metadata></metadata></law>
