						<section id="A"><p><span class="prefix-number">A.</span> Unless specifically exempted by <span class="dictionary">law</span>, VITA shall be responsible for the development, operation, and management of <span class="dictionary">information technology</span> for every <span class="dictionary">executive branch agency</span>, pursuant to the provisions of this chapter. <a id="paragraph-227884" class="section-permalink" href="https://vacode.org/2.2-2011/#A"><i class="fa fa-link"/></a></p></section>
						<section id="B"><p><span class="prefix-number">B.</span> The CIO shall have the following powers and duties concerning the development, operation, and management of <span class="dictionary">information technology</span>: <a id="paragraph-227885" class="section-permalink" href="https://vacode.org/2.2-2011/#B"><i class="fa fa-link"/></a></p></section>
						<section id="B1" class="indent-1"><p><span class="prefix-number">1.</span> Manage, coordinate, and provide the <span class="dictionary">information technology</span> used by executive branch agencies; <a id="paragraph-227886" class="section-permalink" href="https://vacode.org/2.2-2011/#B1"><i class="fa fa-link"/></a></p></section>
						<section id="B2" class="indent-1"><p><span class="prefix-number">2.</span> Acquire, lease, or construct such land, facilities, and equipment as necessary to deliver comprehensive <span class="dictionary">information technology</span> services, and to maintain such land, facilities, and equipment owned or leased; and <a id="paragraph-227887" class="section-permalink" href="https://vacode.org/2.2-2011/#B2"><i class="fa fa-link"/></a></p></section>
