						<section><p>Notwithstanding any other provision of <span class="dictionary">law</span>, no insurer licensed to transact the <span class="dictionary">business</span> of insurance in the Commonwealth or approved to <span class="dictionary">issue</span> surplus lines insurance in the Commonwealth shall be excluded from presenting an insurance bid proposal to a <span class="dictionary">public body</span> in response to a request for proposal or an invitation to bid. Nothing in this section shall preclude a <span class="dictionary">public body</span> from debarring a prospective insurer pursuant to &#xA7;&#xA0;<a class="law" title="Debarment" href="/2.2-4321/">2.2-4321</a>.</p></section></text><history>1996, c. 989, &#xA7; 11-44.1; 2001, c. 844.</history><metadata></metadata></law>
