						<section><p>All agencies and instrumentalities of the Commonwealth shall provide, at no cost, copies of documents requested by the Department of State Police or other <span class="dictionary"><span class="dictionary">law</span>-enforcement officers</span> as part of an active criminal investigation.
		&#x201C;<span class="dictionary"><span class="dictionary">Law</span>-enforcement officer</span>&#x201D; means the same as that term is defined in &#xA7;&#xA0;<a class="law" title="(Effective July 1, 2026) Definitions" href="/9.1-101/">9.1-101</a>.</p></section></text><history>1997, c. 44, &#xA7; 2.1-2.2; 2001, c. 844.</history><metadata></metadata></law>
