						<section id="A"><p><span class="prefix-number">A.</span> The <span class="dictionary">Department</span> of Education shall establish, make available to each <span class="dictionary">school board</span>, and post on its website guidelines for individualized education program (IEP) teams to utilize when developing IEPs for <span class="dictionary">children with disabilities</span> to ensure that IEP teams consider the need for age-appropriate and developmentally appropriate instruction related to sexual health, self-restraint, self-protection, respect for personal privacy, and personal boundaries of others. <a id="paragraph-286468" class="section-permalink" href="https://vacode.org/22.1-217.03/#A"><i class="fa fa-link"/></a></p></section>
						<section id="B"><p><span class="prefix-number">B.</span> In developing IEPs for <span class="dictionary">children with disabilities</span>, in addition to any other requirements established by the Board, each local <span class="dictionary">school board</span> shall ensure that IEP teams consider the guidelines established by the <span class="dictionary">Department</span> of Education pursuant to subsection A. <a id="paragraph-286469" class="section-permalink" href="https://vacode.org/22.1-217.03/#B"><i class="fa fa-link"/></a></p></section></text><history>2020, cc. 51, 170; 2024, c. 493.</history><metadata></metadata></law>
