						<section id="A"><p><span class="prefix-number">A.</span> The local <span class="dictionary">school board</span> may adopt procedures for the appointment of student representatives from among the students enrolled in the public schools in the division. The student representative shall serve in a nonvoting, advisory capacity and shall be appointed under such circumstances and serve for such terms as the board prescribes. <a id="paragraph-302149" class="section-permalink" href="https://vacode.org/22.1-86.1/#A"><i class="fa fa-link"/></a></p></section>
						<section id="B"><p><span class="prefix-number">B.</span> Nothing in this section shall prohibit any <span class="dictionary">school board</span> from excluding the nonvoting student representative from executive sessions or closed meetings pursuant to &#xA7; <a class="law" title="(Effective July 1, 2026) Closed meetings authorized for certain limited purposes" href="/2.2-3711/">2.2-3711</a>. <a id="paragraph-302150" class="section-permalink" href="https://vacode.org/22.1-86.1/#B"><i class="fa fa-link"/></a></p></section>
