						<section id="A"><p><span class="prefix-number">A.</span> The <span class="dictionary">State Board</span> shall consist of 15 nonlegislative citizen members appointed by the Governor subject to confirmation by the General Assembly. <a id="paragraph-282285" class="section-permalink" href="https://vacode.org/23.1-2902/#A"><i class="fa fa-link"/></a></p></section>
						<section id="B"><p><span class="prefix-number">B.</span> Each member shall be a resident of the Commonwealth. No officer, employee, or member of the <span class="dictionary">governing board</span> of any <span class="dictionary">public institution of higher education</span> or of any school subject to the control of the <span class="dictionary">State Board</span> and no member of the Board of Education is eligible for appointment to the <span class="dictionary">State Board</span>.
