						<section><p>Every vehicle, <span class="dictionary">firearm</span>, crossbow, slingbow, arrowgun, bow and arrow, or speargun used with the knowledge or consent of the owner or lienholder thereof, in killing or attempting to kill deer between a half hour after sunset and a half hour before sunrise in violation of &#xA7;&#xA0;<a class="law" title="Killing deer by use of certain lights; acts raising presumption of attempt to kill" href="/29.1-523/">29.1-523</a>, and every vehicle used in the <span class="dictionary">transportation</span> of the carcass, or any part thereof, of a deer so killed shall be forfeited to the Commonwealth. Upon being condemned as forfeited in proceedings under Chapter 22.1 (&#xA7;&#xA0;<a class="law" title="Commencing an action of forfeiture" href="/19.2-386.1/">19.2-386.1</a> et seq.) of Title 19.2, the proceeds of sale shall be disposed of according to <span class="dictionary">law</span>.</p></section></text><history>1962, c. 520, &#xA7; 29-144.3; 1978, c. 199; 1987, c. 488; 2002, c. 157; 2012, cc. 283, 756; 2017, c. 530; 2018, cc. 557, 558.</history><metadata></metadata></law>
