						<section><p>The <span class="dictionary">Board</span> may construct such sidewalks or walkways on the bridges and along the highways under its <span class="dictionary">jurisdiction</span> as it deems necessary for the protection of pedestrian traffic.
		All provisions of <span class="dictionary">law</span> with respect to the acquisition of lands and interests therein and the construction, reconstruction, alteration, improvement, and <span class="dictionary">maintenance</span> of highways in the primary and secondary state <span class="dictionary">highway</span> systems, including the exercise of the power of eminent domain by the <span class="dictionary">Board</span> and the <span class="dictionary">Commissioner of Highways</span>, shall be applicable to such sidewalks and walkways.</p></section></text><history>Code 1950, &#xA7; 33-121; 1970, c. 322, &#xA7; 33.1-205; 2014, c. 805.</history><metadata></metadata></law>
