						<section><p>Except as provided in &#xA7;&#xA0;<a class="law" title="Limited applicability to certain insurers" href="/38.2-2602/">38.2-2602</a>, no <span class="dictionary">home protection company</span> shall <span class="dictionary">issue</span> or offer to <span class="dictionary">issue</span> home protection <span class="dictionary">contracts</span> in this Commonwealth until a <span class="dictionary">home protection company</span> license has been granted by the <span class="dictionary">Commission</span>. Application for a license shall be made in writing, in the form prescribed by the <span class="dictionary">Commission</span>, and shall be accompanied by a nonrefundable application fee of $500.</p></section></text><history>1981, c. 530, &#xA7; 38.1-933; 1986, c. 562.</history><metadata></metadata></law>
