						<section id="A"><p><span class="prefix-number">A.</span> For the purposes of this section, a &#x201C;road whip&#x201D; is a <span class="dictionary">vehicle</span> <span class="dictionary">operator</span> guiding or assisting with a hunt under the direction of a hunt master. <a id="paragraph-250534" class="section-permalink" href="https://vacode.org/46.2-1025.1/#A"><i class="fa fa-link"/></a></p></section>
						<section id="B"><p><span class="prefix-number">B.</span> During a fox hunt, a road whip for a hunt organization exempt from federal taxation pursuant to &#xA7; 501(c) of the Internal Revenue Code that is a member in good standing of the Masters of Foxhounds Association of North America may use a <span class="dictionary">vehicle</span> equipped with flashing amber warning <span class="dictionary">lights</span> for the purpose of warning other <span class="dictionary">vehicles</span> of such fox hunt happening in the area. Such road whip shall be (i) at least 21 years of age; (ii) in <span class="dictionary">possession</span> of a valid Virginia <span class="dictionary">driver</span>&#x2019;s license; (iii) an experienced member of such hunt organization; (iv) aware of the land being used for such hunt; (v) knowledgeable of the path the hunt may take and any <span class="dictionary">highway</span> where <span class="dictionary">vehicles</span>, hunters, horses, or hounds may be present; and (vi) under the supervision of the masters of the hunt, including having global positioning system (GPS) location monitoring and radio communication with such masters of the hunt or other hunting staff. Each such hunt may authorize such flashing amber warning <span class="dictionary">lights</span> on no more than two <span class="dictionary">vehicles</span> operated by such road whips per hunt. Any <span class="dictionary">vehicle</span> using flashing amber warning <span class="dictionary">lights</span> as authorized in this section shall display a sign on the rear of such <span class="dictionary">vehicle</span> that reads &#x201C;Horse Crossing With Rider&#x201D; in print large enough for a passing motorist to read. No flashing amber warning <span class="dictionary">lights</span> authorized pursuant to this section may be used while such <span class="dictionary">vehicle</span> is in <span class="dictionary">motion</span>. <a id="paragraph-250535" class="section-permalink" href="https://vacode.org/46.2-1025.1/#B"><i class="fa fa-link"/></a></p></section></text><history>2024, c. 95.</history><metadata></metadata></law>
