						<section><p>Any person who shall knowingly have in his <span class="dictionary">possession</span> a <span class="dictionary">motor vehicle</span>, <span class="dictionary">motor vehicle</span> part, <span class="dictionary">trailer</span>, or <span class="dictionary">semitrailer</span> whose motor number, serial number, identification number, <span class="dictionary">decal</span> or device as required by federal <span class="dictionary">law</span> has been removed, changed, or altered without the consent of the <span class="dictionary">Department</span> shall be guilty of a Class 6 <span class="dictionary">felony</span>.</p></section></text><history>Code 1950, &#xA7; 46-10; 1958, c. 541, &#xA7; 46.1-83; 1978, cc. 294, 605; 1979, c. 428; 1989, c. 727; 1996, cc. 591, 917.</history><metadata></metadata></law>
