						<section><p>Temporary <span class="dictionary">license plates</span> shall expire on the receipt of the permanent <span class="dictionary">license plates</span> from the <span class="dictionary">Department</span>, or on the rescission of a <span class="dictionary">contract</span> to purchase a <span class="dictionary">motor vehicle</span>, or on the expiration of thirty days from the date of issuance, whichever occurs first. No refund or credit of fees paid by <span class="dictionary">dealers</span> to the <span class="dictionary">Department</span> for temporary <span class="dictionary">license plates</span> shall be allowed, except that when the <span class="dictionary">Department</span> discontinues the right of a <span class="dictionary">dealer</span> to <span class="dictionary">issue</span> temporary <span class="dictionary">license plates</span>, the <span class="dictionary">dealer</span>, on returning temporary <span class="dictionary">license plates</span> to the <span class="dictionary">Department</span>, may receive a refund or a credit for them.</p></section></text><history>1988, c. 865, &#xA7; 46.1-550.5:23; 1989, c. 727.</history><metadata></metadata></law>
