						<section><p>The <span class="dictionary">Commissioner</span> or any person authorized by the <span class="dictionary">Commissioner</span> or any <span class="dictionary"><span class="dictionary">law</span>-enforcement officer</span>, during the usual business hours, may examine any records, books, papers, or other documents required to be maintained by this chapter, and may examine any vehicle or component part of any vehicle located in the yard, garage, or storage area of any <span class="dictionary">salvage dealer</span>, <span class="dictionary">rebuilder</span>, <span class="dictionary">demolisher</span>, <span class="dictionary">salvage pool</span>, <span class="dictionary">scrap metal processor</span>, or <span class="dictionary">vehicle removal operator</span> to ensure compliance with this chapter.</p></section></text><history>1979, c. 401, &#xA7; 46.1-550.12; 1987, c. 325; 1989, c. 727; 1992, c. 148.</history><metadata></metadata></law>
