						<section><p>When the <span class="dictionary">driver</span> of any <span class="dictionary">motor vehicle</span> is convicted of any violation of &#xA7;&#xA7;&#xA0;<a class="law" title="Following too closely" href="/46.2-816/">46.2-816</a>, <a class="law" title="Right-of-way at uncontrolled intersections, generally" href="/46.2-820/">46.2-820</a> through <a class="law" title="Unlawful speed forfeits right-of-way" href="/46.2-823/">46.2-823</a>, <a class="law" title="Left turn traffic to yield right-of-way" href="/46.2-825/">46.2-825</a>, <a class="law" title="Stop before entering public highway or sidewalk from private road, etc.; yielding right-of-way" href="/46.2-826/">46.2-826</a> or &#xA7;&#xA7;&#xA0;<a class="law" title="Reckless driving; general rule" href="/46.2-852/">46.2-852</a> through <a class="law" title="Reckless driving on parking lots, etc" href="/46.2-864/">46.2-864</a>, or of any of the applicable speed limits prescribed in &#xA7;&#xA7;&#xA0;<a class="law" title="Maximum speed limits generally" href="/46.2-870/">46.2-870</a> through <a class="law" title="Authority to change speed limits" href="/46.2-878/">46.2-878</a> and the violation was committed while driving a <span class="dictionary">motor vehicle</span>, <span class="dictionary">tractor truck</span>, <span class="dictionary">trailer</span>, or <span class="dictionary">semitrailer</span>, transporting explosives or any inflammable gas or liquid, in addition to any <span class="dictionary">penalty</span> imposed, the <span class="dictionary">court</span> may <span class="dictionary">suspend</span> the <span class="dictionary">driver</span>&#x2019;s license of the convicted person for a period of ninety days from the date of <span class="dictionary">conviction</span>.</p></section></text><history>Code 1950, &#xA7; 46-197.2; 1954, c. 377; 1958, c. 541, &#xA7; 46.1-424; 1984, c. 780; 1989, c. 727.</history><metadata></metadata></law>
