						<section><p>The <span class="dictionary">Commissioner</span> may appoint one or more persons to conduct the <span class="dictionary">hearings</span> provided for in this title. The <span class="dictionary">hearing</span> officers are hereby authorized to administer <span class="dictionary">oaths</span>, take acknowledgments and <span class="dictionary">affidavits</span>, take <span class="dictionary">testimony</span> and <span class="dictionary">depositions</span>, and perform other duties which are incidental to conducting the <span class="dictionary">hearings</span>.</p></section></text><history>1958, c. 541, &#xA7; 46.1-434; 1989, c. 727.</history><metadata></metadata></law>
