						<section><p>Wherever it is provided in this title that the <span class="dictionary">driver</span>&#x2019;s license, registration cards, or <span class="dictionary">license plates</span> of any person be suspended or revoked for a period of time on <span class="dictionary">conviction</span> of certain <span class="dictionary">offenses</span>, or after a <span class="dictionary">hearing</span> before the <span class="dictionary">Commissioner</span> as provided by <span class="dictionary">law</span>, the period shall be counted from the date the <span class="dictionary">conviction</span> becomes final or after the <span class="dictionary">order</span> of the <span class="dictionary">Commissioner</span>, as a result of the <span class="dictionary">hearing</span>, becomes final. However, the provisions of this section shall not apply in any case where the person whose license is subject to <span class="dictionary">suspension</span> or <span class="dictionary">revocation</span> gives a false name or otherwise conceals his identity.</p></section></text><history>Code 1950, &#xA7; 46-427.1; 1954, c. 222; 1958, c. 541, &#xA7; 46.1-441; 1984, c. 780; 1989, c. 727; 2005, c. 565.</history><metadata></metadata></law>
