						<section><p>If it appears to the <span class="dictionary">circuit</span> <span class="dictionary">court</span> having <span class="dictionary">jurisdiction</span> that the sheriff or jail superintendent has in any respect failed to perform his duties with respect to the operation of the jail, the <span class="dictionary">court</span> may, after summoning him to show cause against it, summarily fine him not more than fifty dollars.</p></section></text><history>Code 1950, &#xA7; 53-161; 1970, c. 648; 1982, c. 636; 1991, c. 383.</history><metadata></metadata></law>
