						<section><p>The <span class="dictionary">circuit</span> <span class="dictionary">court</span>, before certifying any allowance pursuant to &#xA7;&#xA0;<a class="law" title="When sheriffs to summon or employ guards and other persons; allowances therefor; fees charged to prisoner" href="/53.1-93/">53.1-93</a>, shall inquire into the condition of the jail. If it appears that a guard was necessary because of the insecurity of the jail, it shall <span class="dictionary">order</span> the allowance to be certified to the governing body of the county or city.
