						<section><p>No <span class="dictionary">manufacturer</span> or <span class="dictionary">distributor</span> of <span class="dictionary">controlled substances</span> shall <span class="dictionary">distribute</span> or <span class="dictionary">dispense</span> any substance listed on <span class="dictionary">Schedules</span> II through V to any <span class="dictionary">person</span>, whether a <span class="dictionary">practitioner</span> of the healing arts or some other profession, except with the written request or confirmation of receipt of the <span class="dictionary">practitioner</span>. Such request or confirmation shall be maintained as required by this chapter.
		Subject to the foregoing provisions, no <span class="dictionary">person</span> shall be prohibited from distributing <span class="dictionary">controlled substances</span> listed on <span class="dictionary">Schedules</span> II through V for charitable uses or for use in research or investigations.</p></section></text><history>1984, c. 724, &#xA7; 54-524.58:2; 1988, c. 765.</history><metadata></metadata></law>
